Last night I stepped out to the opening of the Miu Miu Boutique in the Houston Galleria Mall.  The glitterati were out in full force and they spared no expense on when it came to shopping the new collection. Solange Knowles acted as DJ and her entourage included Pappa Knowles, who seemed to be very protective of his younger daughter.  The invitation only crowd enjoyed cool sounds while surrounded  by the gorgeous Spring 2012 Miu Miu collection.  The clothes didnt really do anything for me but the shoes and handbags had me salivating.  I didnt buy anything because I have learned that a never ending flow of Champagne, a special discount, and my credit card are a bad combination.  However, I will definitely drop back in in the near future.

Now, I would love to report that the night went off without a hitch, but sadly no.  Being new to this blogging venture I hadn’t anticipated running into technical difficulties.  So, for all my fellow baby bloggers, here are some key points I want to share with you to keep you from making the same mistakes.

1. 1. In case your photographer is unavailable always have a back-up plan for pictures.  Yeah, I basically got stuck with a camera that I didn’t know how to operate.  There is nothing worse than asking someone if you can take their picture for your blog and not being able to operate your camera. Not a very professional look.  Which brings me to my next point….
2. 2. Make sure that the location is IPhone friendly or whatever equipment you plan on using.  Yeah, it seemed that my apps access was directly connected to the amount of people at the party.  It started off fine in the beginning but as the party got more hype, I lost acess to Twitter, FB, and even Instagram wouldn’t  load my pics.  I was in hell.
3. Make sure you go to events with proper contact materials.  Yeah, it wasn’t until I got to the party that I had the brilliant idea of having business cards or something to promote my blog.  SMH

All in all I had a great time and felt very lucky to be invited.  I’m an avid believer that you cannot progress unless you make mistakes.  Please feel free to share any mistakes you have made.  I would like to share as many pointers as I can.
