I woke up this morning with Marchesa on my mind. Oscar Sunday is approaching and after the presence on the Golden Globes Red Carpet I’m excited to see their representation on the night. Also, because it’s my countdown to March madness. No, not the college basketball tournament, but my own personal social renewal. I’ve been a bit of a hermit as of late which is completely unlike me. However, next month marks the beginning of my rebirth. The girl I used to be; which means a more personal touch to this blog.

Next month is also my 34th birthday on the 22nd and I am treating myself to 2 trips to my favorite US cities. My first stop will be to New Orleans, one of the most amazing cities in the US, to take in the lovely shops on Magazine Street and my favorite city tours. My second stop will be Los Angeles to visit the LA Fashion District and to roam the city streets; taking in the wonderful magic that is LA, California.

You are probably asking yourself what does all this have to do with Marchesa? Well, here it is. I am a huge, huge, huge lover of the ballet and in March I will get to see 3 great ballet company performances; Alvin Ailey Dance Theater of Harlem, The Houston Ballet, and the Los Angeles Ballet Company. The feathered gowns on the Marchesa runway, immediately reminded me that, while in Los Angeles, I will get to see this beloved ballet Swan Lake for the first time ever. I wanted to write about the Marchesa collection for a while, but I wasn’t sure of what angle I wanted to use…So I figured using it to introduce things you can expect from my blog in the near future was a good fit. And also, my excitement about seeing those Swan Lake costumes pirouetting across the stage and those stunning feathered dresses was a perfect correlation. The collection, in its entirety was fit for royalty but in my opinion the feathers have it!
